Comic KOH Vol. 5 can be found here: https://e-hentai.org/g/851893/3b0e7957ab/

I tried to preserve as much of the SFX and handdrawn screams as possible. I don't think my typesetting could get even close to how nice those look. I think they convey what sounds are being made just by their form alone. Only if they were clearly saying some words I translated them.

To be honest, I'm a bit puzzles by some of the text/story, I feel like I made some mistranslations but perhaps it's just odd. Maybe if you just read it and have some ideas of what I did wrong you can comment on them below. SPOILERS if you haven't read.

* She calls him "daddy", otou-san in Japanese, only twice. I think maybe she means otousan not as father but more as an honorific term? My hypothesis is that it shows her not seeing him as her sensei but now as a partner, but I haven't seen otou-san used in that form.

* The first page and second to last page. Both of these pages are just a mess to me, the text is very vague so I am not sure what's really going on. I guess the first page hints that their secret affair is over, but the message from the mom and such doesn't really make sense for me. The second to last page has some confusing stuff as well. I think it's just supposed to hint that they almost grew apart because the teacher thought she was gonna move away?? I almost feel as if there are missing pages or something, it's so odd going from the climax page to what it seems like them meeting after a while and being a bit distant. Then the last page is just the opposite. Maybe it *is* just a bit oddly written, or perhaps I just made some mistranslations.

Ok, what I get from the first pages is that her parents divorced and she went to live with her mother but didn't see her much because of work. She was alone most of the time and started to have an incestuous relation with her father (maybe the father was the instigator and it was one of the causes of the divorce, based on the top panel of the last page) but eventually they started to grow apart and decided to end that secret relationship, probably around the time the teacher found her at night (probably she was really waiting for her father that day to have a last talk, or last fuck, whatever), and that take us to the begginig of their relationship, with both of them left without their partners (his wife and her father) and living in empty houses.

I interpret the last pages as her father telling her that she needed someone to take care of her, maybe as his way of grooming after the divorce, and that stuck with her and made her go after the teacher when she saw the option. The cover must be a misdirection, since there she is a middleschooler and the techer is a high school one, or maybe her father looks a lot like the teacher, since the silouette has a similar buid and hair to the ones of the teacher.

Or maybe the joke is on us, the real story is something else and the native japanese speakers are laughing at both your translation and my interpretation

@akseyd, I think your theory is quite possible. Especiallly with that part that she's waiting outside for her father. Though there are some problems. The figure in the first pannel in the first page looks exactly like the teacher on the 2nd page. Those being different people would be needlessly confusing, though still possible.

I do agree that it's heavily hinted at that the girl's parents are divorced, the "sounds from outside echoing in her room" is, as I see it, hinting at her parents arguing. It might be that she sees the teacher as her new father and that why she calls him father.

What I also didn't think about is the meaning of the title "charade". I guess the "charade" is that they are suppposed to be acting as if they don't have a relationship, but that isn't worked out at all. All this confusion kinda makes me think that perhaps it's not genius of the author but more incompetence that created the confusion. At least the art is still top tier...

This was indeed a confusing read and it makes me wish I could read Japanese to check the raw. There are two ways that I see this story working out. Either similar to what askeyd proposed, the teacher views the student as a stand in for his wife, and the student views him as a stand in for her father. This would mean that the title is referring to their acting in a familial way before finally giving in and becoming lovers.

Alternatively this may be a more self reflective story by the teacher of viewing his daughter as an object of lust and her learning of it. I believe the first page is showing when the teacher and his daughter parted ways after him coming to the realization that he was in love with her. The wife cheating on him did happen and is what caused the divorce, but she cheated on him more because he wasn't paying her any attention as he had fallen for their daughter.

The relationship with the student is hard to articulate, but I believe the teacher viewed the student as a stand in for his daughter while the student viewed him as a stand in for her father. I believe the daughter of the teacher may have also been named Shiho, but it is hard to tell as this story seems to be lacking details. From there the relationship between them developed until his student confessed to him asking him to take her virginity. This is where the title comes in, the charade in question was the relationship in so far as the teacher trying to act like a father figure while viewing the daughter that he loved within his student. The charade ends when she confesses and then the rest of it is their relationship playing out until they are married and have a child of their own.

This however still leaves room for confusion as the last 2 pages seem very disjointed in terms of dialogue. This might be explained by being viewed from two different peoples perspective. I say this because the second panel on the last page shows a girl crying and I believe this is the student. She realizes that the teacher doesn't love her so much as he loves his daughter and views her as a replacement, hence the tear in her eye. However in the end even if he doesn't love her she loves him and is willing to stay by his side in unrequited love.

So I took a look at the Japanese raws and I might be wrong about this part, but for the first panel of the first page, the father seems to actually be scolding someone. He says in rude language "Someone like you should just keep pretending to be decent for the rest of your life". Maybe to his wife during a fight?

And then in the second panel the father is telling Shiho "Daddy won't be able to see you that often anymore".

The last two pages are Shiho having a dream about her father, but the teacher and her father overlap and she's confused on who she's talking to. I think that's to signify that she sees the teacher as a sort of stand in for her dad. On the last page, she's remembering herself telling her father "When Shiho grows up, she's going to be papa's bride" in third person the way children talk.

My interpretation is that after the divorce, the father left the house and Shiho lives with her mother. Her mother is always out until late at night and the house is a mess. Shiho is lonely and goes out of her way to try and meet her dad, but it seems he doesn't care to meet her. That's when the teacher helps her and they form a relationship. Shiho becomes attached to him as a sort of replacement father and they become lovers. I don't think the teacher had a daughter because he states that only one person left the house after the divorce and there is no mention of him having a child.
