This really shows how long it takes for one to progress in becoming a better artist. Fucking hell the time it took. Well this demotivates me even more of ever reaching top lvl artistry lol

I remember first reading this comic in 2007 and even back then it was already going on for like 4 years or so.

The artist has improved greatly since then but it was a very slow process, there were hiatuses in between chapters that lasted months or even a year.

@ SSSdriver: Isn’t that what one would expect from a dedicated self-taught artist who grows up, gets a daytime job, and possibly even has a life?

If Twokinds were Fischbach’s main source of income, the hiatuses might be weird, maybe reflecting health issues or deep doubts.

My understanding is that he does something else for a living. (Correct me if I’m wrong). Given that, I’m finding it awesome that he’s never given up on his storyteller dream and has been able to develop so much. Not to mention that he probably came up with the outline of his ambitious saga at a rather early age.

Had I achieved a fourth of what he’s done by today, with any of my own creative projects, I’d find it cool as hell.

Look at his Patreon man, 1800 patrons, $8k monthly. Nowadays there's no way he needs to do anything else for a living. Everyone can live off what he's getting monthly.
Hiatuses are understandable though, breaks are important, especially in the past when he didn't earn that much from Patreon, so the hiatuses were longer. Now he has more time, therefore he does more art monthly and it's basically printing him money. He doesn't paywall any of his art either. (Patreon enforces NSFW content to be behind paywall, but he always puts them to public as soon as he posts on Patreon)
The only thing people get at $10 is ability to suggest sketches and that's basically it. He does more sketches (and colors for them) than comic updates. I assume they became more fun to do for him than actual comic.
