This story is much more focused on "corruption" rather than cheating itself, the boyfriend character is barely in the story. He's just there to make this story NTR. In this story, they lacked of intimacy, the main point is just the corruption of the girl. You can change the boyfriend role to some random role (friend, teacher, brother) and it doesn't change anything.
