Using DeepL would definitely downgrade the quality, every point where the uploader had to try to make sense of the story is a point where DeepL would have just made some random shit up to ensure it only outputs English that looks sensible even if it has absolutely nothing to do with what you put in.

Google Translate isn't great but at least it's pretty honest about it instead of just throwing in random bullshit to cover for its mistakes like DeepL does.
