I expect in this case it's to conform to the character's personality? Isn't "Bowsette" meant to be "edgy?"

I don't know much of anything about Bowsette or Mario's canon, but this has always been my perception about the character. They're often portrayed with a fiery, heated, or loud personality, and are dressed in black punk attire.
