It actually rather annoys me how many fucking one-shots seem to have more worthwhile story content than many serialized mangas. Theres been so many times I've read them and wondered why the fuck that it couldn't have been serialized instead of another fucking isekai.

Look, I'm just saying that when porn with a plot has a better story than your generic isekai that's getting published/serialized, maybe - just maybe - there's a problem in the industry somewhere...

@definitionofinsanity Not exactly the industry but serialized work that has you producing on a schedule, almost regardless if that schedule is weekly, monthly or longer. You create a great hook, get a bit of good content going and then you are expected to keep going and going yet you will hit a roadblock but have to keep releasing.

This is one amazingly interesting work. Remove the H and add more backstory and front story, it is a material for a short story. If the author is good and polish the script and flesh out the character well, it has potential as a decent commercial work.

Also, that's kind of the whole meta bit on things being "short and sweet"; more has to happen in a short timespan in oneshots and doujinshi than can be allowed to happen in the same timespan in serialized works. If this much happened 'every chapter' in a serial, it couldn't maintain its steam because of having to keep track of too much. It's very much why long-running day dramas persist when they could have ended years ago, past a certain point it's not something that can be managed.

Honestly it's cool that he did get hired by a label so he could still find work relating to his passion, albeit not in a way he expected in his younger days.
