I dunno @Lucie female. it could also be an actual consciousness transfer. The story doesn't really specify that little detail however and you could indeed be right, but considering how sadistic the girl and guy are being with their old boss, I reckon it's the same consciousness. The old boss would have also probably tried to appeal to the two with something like "I'm technically not the person you hated, so stop treating me like this" if she were just a copy, and seeing how they know the workings of how this tech works and he didn't try that, I think lends credence that him indeed having been moved to the metadoll body.

You'd be suprised of the number of people thinking that destroying the body to recreate it somewhere else is teleportation.

And so, the number of people convinced that they can upload their mind into a computer in the future, you right, there is a chance that this doujin use kinda "Magic" new technology, but my take is that there are much greater chance that it's the usual "Hey I copied my mind into a computer, so i am in the computer, right?"

If I were to hazard a guess I'd say respectively sadistic pleasure and there are none.

We know from the dialogue that the artifical brain is its own personality with the original one trapped inside experiencing the sensations but unable to act and that the personalities can be put into humans as well. So obviously they could run the doll the only reason to kill a persona and put their mind in the doll is to torment them. Either they're trapped as a passenger while the brain runs the body or they're in control up to a point but any time they try to go beyond it the OS shut's them down and all the time they obey they're being trained by feeling a rush of pleasure to associate obedience with feeling good. So the only reason to do that to someone is if you want to enjoy watching the copy of their mind slowly break down and become a sex doll. Rivals at work, uppity men/women, random runaways for the fun of it, etc.

As for the bodies we also see that in the dialogue when he comments the sexdoll he's with at the start was originally someone investigating his company. He killed them, put their mind in his own personal doll to torment and put a generic AI in their human body to ruin them. You'd think someone would notice when someone's investigating this kind of thing suddenly quits, gets a sex change and starts working at a brothel and go all out to shut them down but apparently not. Anyway point is any bodies are going to be rare or explained by other circumstances as the uploaded AI creates a cover story for it (became a sex worker, commited suicide, ran away, etc). For example while the main character here is being turned into one of his dolls his body goes on a holiday to Switzerland leaving copious witness and evidence then "falls" off a mountain.
