Well, here it is, my first release of 2023.

But man am I slow compared to the Chinese and Koreans who released their TLs the next day.
Granted, I only started working on this post New Years.
Although, It didn't help that this was incredibly finicky to typeset properly on top of the numerous SFX either.

Also, I'm not sure why the raws are so low res but even if a high res version comes out down the line, it's highly unlikely that I'd be willing to redo everything here.

For anyone reading this, Flanvia is planning to release the sequel at C102.
I will absolutely be doing it when it does.

It's not a 0% chance but I'm not really a Touhou fan so yeah... probably not very high, all things considered.

"small fry" is an ineffective translation and bumps native english speakers out of immersion. A fry is a type of fish that was commonly caught in old england. That english phrase is 350-400 years old depending on when it started being used as an insult, and is not used colloquially anymore (and hasn't been for decades - you might only hear it occasionally in a movie from the 1980s when a bully is terrorizing a smaller high school kid). Hell, Shakespeare himself compared some characters to small fish when he wanted to indicate their weakness, but he never used the fry fish AFAIK. This particular insult came about a bit later. So you can see how it jolts a skilled English reader out of their immersion.

The implication of the original japanese is "worthless," "weak," or "useless" - so use one of those instead.

I've seen "small fry" used by A LOT of JP->EN manga translators, so I'm guessing it's an issue with a particular kanji dictionary or other translation resource that is commonly used by manga translators, and whoever authors/makes the resource doesn't understand that "small fry" hasn't been a natural/effective English colloquialism in a very long time, but fails to offer effective alternatives.

You're somehow very lucky that I just so happened to be browsing through my uploads to even see this.

To be perfectly honest with you, I do agree with some of what you're saying, but your alternatives are honestly pretty lacking and also just as uninspired. There's nothing inherently wrong with "small fry" for ザコ in this situation, it's just kind of the textbook TL just like "It can't be helped" is for 仕方ない which is why you see it everywhere. In a translation that I would put out today, I'd definitely stray away from making the same choice I did here, and opt into something like "bitch hole" instead.

However, this is a decision I've made 2 years ago now (crazy how time flies). And in that time, I've improved leaps and bounds in every area imaginable (FWIW, I still don't count translation as my strongest skill). I treat my old uploads as time capsules to remind me how far I've come, given that they're supposed to represent the best of my ability at that very moment in time. Basically, you're kind of barking up the wrong tree at the wrong time because there's certainly no way that I would go back and implement such a change in the script.
