2. Pick a better font.
3. Center align your text.

Edit: Because you read right to left in manga and having left alignment makes it awful to read. Also, it just looks bad.
Spelling correctly is one thing, but punctuation also exists, except it doesn't here. That's why you need a native English proofreader.

For proofreading there are people that do it for free and also programs that are free. You can put it into online web apps for example.
The alignment is slightly off for most people it's very unusual. For example look on the 2nd page "Hey" is almost touching the border of the bubble.
Still it's not as bad as the guy said. Thank you for translating

Well I'm American and I am not going to complain about crap as alignment. For a non-native speaker the English is perfectly understandable and acceptable and I give Kudo's for the translator to take his time translating it.

Thank you for the translation it was not difficult to read I have seen much worse and please continue to translate this story I like this artist works. I'm giving this a 4 star for the effort and time you took and how understandable it is not some crap MTL like takes no effort at all and is just garbage.

Honestly, chatting in the comments like you're doing right now is unironically a better way to improve lol Translation isn't a beginner thing and requires a solid basis, especially when neither language is your first.

Dio, the only thing that you're missing is the punctuation marks, like periods, commas, and question marks. And the alignment makes it an little bit tricky to read.

To add to @cutegyaru's comment, I would say that not even all native English speakers are capable of translating / proofreading. You aren't going to magically improve your English by translating because you fundamentally do not understand where and what you are doing wrong.

And to answer your question, it's everything. Your sentences are extremely unnatural sounding and filled with errors.
If you're going to continue doing this, the least you can do is make it a bit more palatable by putting more effort into making your translation look good. You're way less likely to get berated if it's obvious that you tried in some way. Read through what @nikgtasa sent.

People on this site can be really rude to each other. In particular, people are very mean to translators who upload amateur-looking work. So I understand why you would brush off peoples' criticism. As a translator and a positive person, I feel a lot of sympathy for you.

This translation is really bad, though.

If you're learning English, you shouldn't translate things into English. Rather, you should translate English works into your native language. As a translator, it's essential that you have a strong grasp of the language you're translating into. You will not produce good work until you reach a near-fluent level. Translating into English is a bad way to learn English, because you won't be aware of all the mistakes you make. You can't learn from your own writing until you're already at a fluent level. At a minimum, you need a proofreader who has an extremely strong (native) grasp of English. Many native speakers do not have a very strong grasp of their language.

As far as editing goes: manga often uses sans-serif fonts in Japanese, but this looks bad in English. The reasons aren't worth getting into, but you should basically always use a comic book font for manga translations. Some popular options are CC Wild Words and Blambot Casual. Also, center align your text. Left-aligned text looks bad in dialogue bubbles, especially when reading right to left.

I admire your drive to translate, but I really think you should direct that effort towards something else. Right now, your output is barely better than machine translation (in fact, some machine translations are better than this). If you must translate, don't translate into English. Your command of the English language is nowhere near good enough to translate into English.

The argument of "if it's so bad why don't you translate it yourself" is wrong because the people complaining aren't the ones uploading these trash translations. If any of us were to translate it, simply by virtue of having a single native English speaker doing the work, it would probably at least come out readable.

Translations like this one are honestly just as bad as MTL. It's not that it looks amateur that's the problem, it's that it's a bad translation, it's done poorly, and the people who upload them for some reason think they're doing God's work by continually uploading these, so no matter what they won't fucking stop.

It's really funny seeing ESLs arguing for the quality of an English translation against actual native English speakers though.

I find this kind of cynicism to be deeply misguided. Most people do not learn anything from being berated, and even the few who do are still significantly sadder for it. If the choice is between hurting somebody and having to blacklist an uploader on ex, obviously you should choose the latter. At the end of the day, all they did was waste a few minutes of your time. Maybe you don't mind being antagonized, but I promise the vast majority of people do.

First yes some people do laugh at bad things. But more importantly, someone has to "visit" this to find out how bad it is, and mizuryu kei is a very popular artist people would like to see more of so of course they check it out when they see one of his works. That still counts as a visit even if they look at a page and realize the translation is awful.

Its not done perfectly, espically the formating but the english is good enough and even the edditing doesnt look that awefull.
