While I agree that japanese cannot be literally translated and you need to adapt it to the audience, the character overused W like crazy,
I can't show you the RAWs because my commissioner asked me to keep them private, but I can assure you every instance of lol is because the artist chose to use a W, which translates quite literally to lol and is considered obnoxious in japan too (And I'd say it's MEANT to be obnoxious, the dude's an asshole)

In this case, I stand by my use of lol. My job is to translate and adapt the intent of a comic, not to disregard the author's intention because what I think is a good or bad writing decision.

I personally think this is a great translation. The comic won't be to most people's tastes but it feels as if the core aspects of humiliation and dehumanization by an asshole character is well-represented.
