You know, what makes this AI stuff so sad to look at is the sheer genericness of it all. As pretty as the art may be, it's by far some of the most vanilla porn I've ever seen. All the girls have the exact same face and body, and nothing interesting's even happening in the images. This is why I hope this ends up being just another trend because the last thing I want is to see this website and others filled with nothing but "art" like this: Generic pinups with no real skill or imagination behind them.

On top of that is just the fact it's AI-generated. This isn't something crafted by someone devoted to a single skill they've been practicing for a decade or more. It's just some random nobody pressing a button until they get something they want, then acting like they're a great artist. I will continuously vote down any AI-generated content I see for its generic quality and the fact it's just stealing the work of other artists to create an inferior product.

The ease AI provides is what its all about. In time, perhaps it would just take this year to come up with tools that will improve it to astronomical levels. AI artists thinking themselves as great artists is just your prejudice speaking and its completely natural, has happened many times in history with disruptive technologies.

In time they will be able to produce shocking content. The skill to manipulate the AI to achieve complexity will determine their greatness, not composition. This is the dynamic that is being introduced by AI and traditional artists don't have the awareness nor enough knowledge to accept it. They only fear their impending obsoleteness, when only the truly extraordinary will be able to keep their place.
