I think it comes from the high percentage of acceptance from other furries for sexual preference/chosen gender/etc... I've always believed that there's a strong "people already judge us for liking anthropomorphic animals, why should we judge?" mentality in the community.

Though that's just speculation from being a member of the community for some time myself

I'm bi myself, but appeal to nature arguments in support of or against homosexuality or any non-reproductive sexual pursuits are moronic. Apparent same sex coupling has been observed in some animals, true. However other sexual behavior is seen in animals that if a human did them would be disturbing at best or illegal and immoral at worst. Animals also will commit the equivalent of rape, pedophilia, necrophilia, and will also fight and kill each other over mates or do things like kill the offspring of rivals to ensure focus of resources on their own offspring. Some animals also engage in cannibalism, surplus killing beyond what they can possibly eat, and even effectively torturing other animals for fun like housecats playing with injured mice and birds.

Saying "animals do it" as a justification for human behavior is stupid because animals also do horrible things without any concept of morality or ethics.

Second, you claim "the only animals that care about that kind of thing are humans and predominantly ones with strong social ties in abrahamic religion." which is just untrue. There's been both historical and modern secular and non-Abrahamic religious arguments against homosexuality. It's not unique to Abrahamic religion. There's even modern Hindus and Buddhists arguing against it.

@Crociere There's also a proportionally large group of transgender in the furry community, too! It really boils down to general acceptance, just being chill, and not giving a fuck what someone was assigned at birth.
