Well yeah, you're kinda right. I didn't copypaste directly though, but rather checked both results and tried to make something more "human" out of them. So I hope it worked out more or less.

I get it, I get it.
Look, first of all, I primarily translated for myself to understand the story, releasing it to the public is just an added bonus since I saw translation requests for this. And it's pretty time-consuming, so it's not like I'm gonna be doing this on a regular basis. For me, it was just a change from my regular evening pastime, and I don't think I would be returning to it in the near future.
And second, I actually did have a knowledgeable friend to proofread this, he just didn't want to be mentioned. (Now that I think about it, because of that, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned machine translation either...)

Here's an example. So there's this sentence in the afterword: とネームで謎のこだわりがでてしまいペン入れ中はいつも泣きながら装飾描いてます.
Google Translate: I have a mysterious obsession with the name, and while I'm inking, I'm always crying while drawing the decorations.
DeepL: I always cry while I draw decorations during the penning process because I have a mysterious obsession with the name. (and actually DeepL slightly changed its translation later, maybe because it's the AI thing, but it doesn't matter)

This one I had the biggest challenge with, no matter from which angle I looked at it, I just couldn't understand what's that "name" (ネーム) that is being referenced.
In the end I gave up and summoned my friend from the depths of abyss, and asked him, wtf is this? He was as puzzled as I am, but after some investigation, he found that this word is not only a "name", but also a special manga term for a manga storyboard: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ネーム
And now it finally made sense. In the end though, I referenced it just as a "drawing process" instead of "drawing the storyboard' to avoid complicating things.

So yeah. While I did use machine translation, I also got it proofread (which I didn't mention), so there shouldn't be any major mistakes (I hope?). Please let me know if you run into one though.
