I wholeheartedly disagree about Alfie being the worst.
Ozge is the one who rejected Alfie, and as soon as that happened, she loses any right to be offended about who Alfie sleeps with.
At this point, even if they are not friends, she owes Alfie big time for arranging her a safe way to explore the world, but instead of being even a tiny bit grateful, Ozge has just met Alfie's mom and the first thing she does, is insult Alfie twice ("she makes it hard to be her friend" and "I've tried") and kinda admits that she is doing a REALLY bad job at her actual job of being a bodyguard.
Alfie lost her job within the caravan over being dumped, and tried to get a new one. She made series of mistakes, tried to fix them by lying, and everything backfired massively. She tried to fix things again by being honest, and it made her a social outcast. All the while she is being judged by her only friends. They happen to also be the people who forcibly exposed her for doing the same thing as them, except it conveniently doesn't make them social outcasts.

Tldr: Alfie makes mistakes. A lot. But I see where she is coming from. Her environment is constantly giving her mixed messages about how she should act, and she constantly gets into trouble for doing the same things others are doing as well, while her friends turn their backs on her.

It's odd how common it is for western artists to suddenly start to take their porn comics as some serious story; Melkor has also tried to bring drama into his Sydney series but at least each chapter still revolves around sex. Because it's not that Lydia put her in a horrible position - you know, Lydia? I can see what you mean. The very beginning suggested we’d be getting a higher percentage of porn scenes, or at least porn scenes plus ones about erotic and romantic tensions. It felt natural to expect that after we left Pickering and the repressive Havlin lands we’d have the setup ready and would move on to enjoy the sensual freedom offered by the outside world.

Instead, as soon as Alfie’s quest began, basic fucking around became business as usual. It was no more fuel to emotional fires, so it could be given less panels. We were getting an aesthetically distanced fantasy depiction of what real life becomes in general if one questions the surrounding values, abandoning economical and social safety in the process: one’s attention turns to complicated human relations again, not to mention simply making a living.

Detailed sex scenes returned mostly at emotional turning points, such as when Vera and Cillian found unexpected closeness. Occasionally, we got extra "treats", such as when those two were passing by a couple of mating mountain giants.

Had I kept expecting a porn comic, I would have felt as disappointed as you. Luckily enough, I adjusted my approach like this:

In drama movies, we often get one good but short sex scene, a climax of sorts (sometimes maybe two, or one and a half). That tends to leave me craving for more. If the makers could go that far, what’s the point of keeping the bedroom doors closed for the rest of the movie? Is there some secret agreement regarding just how much sex a director or a producer can show in a "serious" work without losing credibility? Would the story not function if that one sex scene, too, was left largely suggestive, 1950s style? In Alfie, I see not a porn but a drama that does not shy away from sexuality. In fact, the story would function better if we got just slightly less sex scenes, and a few more of those where characters just cuddle and talk about sex afterwards. Heh, maybe that’s out of the question because Alfie is bad at intimate communication.

My view is that the main protagonist has not gotten more sex scenes because her interest in sex has its limits. Sure, she does like a good dicking a lot, but her quest is about finding freedom, courage, and knowledge of self. Promiscuity is one of her tools (as well as is writing her diary) as she’s trying to find her way by touch through the darkness that is her insecurity, insincerity, ignorance, and lack of role models. Had she been all about sleeping around, she would be a professional prostitute by this point.

So, I’m largely happy with the story as it is. However, if Incase had enough inspiration or pay (preferably both), he might want to do a bunch of side stories, Kaoru Mori style but featuring lots of sex. The "far larger world of sexual adventure with a myriad of interesting creatures" you mentioned is certainly worth that.

I'm glad you're able to appreciate the comic for what it's become, but unfortunately I am just here for a porn comic, which it never really stopped being due to all the hardcore sex scenes, it's just that, as time went on, it took longer and longer winding roads to get to them while simultaneously feeling like that payoff actually became more and more tame over the years.

I also just think that the story is really boring and, frankly, unadventurous in its subject matter, so the sex scenes are the only interesting part of it to me and I can't help but feel like the rug got pulled out from under me just as it looked like things were about to pick up again for the first time in years. If InCase changes Alfie into a standard fantasy story then it won't even matter anymore, what made Alfie great was that it was THE classic western porn comic, great art, good story, good porn scenes that quite honestly just kept getting hotter and hotter while still been quite common. That's the problem with trying to turn a porn comic serious, you lose the point. Incase has drawn incestual futa spitroasting or whatever before, but now suddenly Alfie has become this very serious comic about healing her relationship with her mom - despite it starting off with artwork of her getting double teamed by orcs. Everyone wants to see oyakodon but at this point yeah it would be really jarring with the current tone of the comic.

I just hope after Incase wraps this up he goes back to drawing his old style goblins getting knocked up.
