The hell? The author is Ukrainian herself and has all the right to use her cultural heritage as she sees fit. Besides, she obviously tends this comic with respect, and pour a lot of care and work into it. Not just grifting on UA-theme for some sort of hype.
Artist have done great work in raising interest in Ukrainian culture and history, besides the ongoing war. So I see it as an overall win for the spread of awareness about the existence and popularisation of such a wonderful country.

You should have respect for your own culture, not be ashamed of it.

To be fair, the tag "mermaid" is not correct because, well, it's not a mermaid. (For starters, it doesn't have a tail, and tags here are visual ones). That's more like the Slavic tradition version of a classic mythology water nymph, which is known all over Europe with a dozen of names (naiads in Greece, xanas in Spain, melusinas in France and Germany...)
