Sure, you can give it a happy ending and just make the wife not care about her husband being raped by a ghost, but you don't find that out until later that she's so blasé about it. Meanwhile the story tells you MC has a cute hot wife that loves him right at the beginning, and he repeatedly mentions her as he's beginning to get blackmail raped, so you just feel bad for her the whole way through until the ending reveal.

Otherwise, this is very nice and raises awareness about the horrible practice of abandoning infants.

-Time skip from the start of the doujin, a couple years have passed and we see Ayumi and Yuuma running the Miki family clinic together. Ayumi is pregnant again, and her and Yuuma are just finishing up with a patient - Mai Ooya, who is now even more pregnant than before. As Mai departs, they call in their next patient: Sakura Fukami, who is bringing in a baby for a check-up (presumably her first born from the first doujin).

6. "Sakura-chan-chi no Oyakodon 2-haime!"

-We return to the Fukami family restaurant. Sakura and her mother have both successfully given birth, and promptly gotten pregnant again - this time with Kou's babies (probably?). Kou himself is working at the restaurant, along with Mai Ooya, who seems to have given birth since her appearance in Ayumi's doujin. On page 19, we get a cameo from Ayumi and Yuuma and their TWO children - it looks like Ayumi's first child was a girl, and she gave birth to her and Yuuma's child sometime between this doujin and the end of her doujin, same as Mai.

Unknown: "Kaidan Toshi Densetsu" - Ghost Stories CASE 01

-Renji, a married businessman, had been out drinking with his colleagues and fell asleep on the train home. He wakes up at an unknown train station, with no service on his phone. He meets a peculiar young girl, Kisaragi Rokka, and they start to talk. However, there's been some strange rumors recently... specifically about train stations, lockers, and girls.

For timeline purposes: note that there is no definite clue to place this entry on the timeline. On page 2, we see a woman who wears an outfit that's very similar to one of Ayumi's. She's shown walking away from a locker, and the assumption is that she has just deposited her newborn in the locker for someone else to find and take care of. This seems to indicate it is Ayumi, but... by this point, both of Ayumi's children are accounted for, and there's been nothing to indicate she had a third child at any time.

This doujin was made after Ayumi and Miki's cameo in Sakura's last doujin, so maybe it's just a coincidence? Or maybe it indicates the Case Files are in a separate continuity? Or maybe Ayumi DID have another child? Or... who knows.

Also interesting to note:
On page 13, Rokka mentions the youkai "Kuchisake-Onna" and "Hasshaku-sama".
On page 63, Renji mentions the "Zashiki-warashi" youkai, and Rokka is shown standing in front of four silhouettes: Hasshaku-sama (upper right), Zashiki-Warashi (bottom right), an unknown figure but possibly the Kuchisake-Onna (upper left), and a fox-girl/kitsune (bottom left).

Hasshaku-sama and two Zashiki-warashi are the main subjects of Case file 02, and on twitter, Kokutou Nikke has posted concept art of a Kitsune youkai heroine, mentioning that they would like to continue the Case Files series (though the Kitsune heroine might not appear for at least two more entries).

its a pretty strange timeline, if i wanted a sequel of Ghost stories CASE 02, there is indeed Kei in CASE 03 but she is with another new childhood friend instead of this one. Then author also did a "sequel" with Mai but this time with a teacher instead of the little brother. Guess its a story that doesnt want to be linear, but really make CASE 02 ending worthless as Daisuke doesnt show up anymore while one would expect a threesome or something with Mai and Kei, after he got trained/hornified by the strange ghosts

In the author's defense(?), we never actually get to see how close Daisuke and Kei are together - they're just said to be friends.

Daisuke does show up as a cameo with Mai in Case 03 - they're out shopping together in the last panel of Page 14.

In the 10 year time-skip at the very end of Cases 03, Mai is shown with the teacher from her story, but that doesn't mean Case 02's ending is worthless.

I think the way the story goes is...

...After Case 02, Daisuke asks Mai to teach him about girls, and she does... physically. Intimately. And she gets pregnant with Daisuke's child.

Her family situation was already not good, so once that happens, she decides to start prostituting her to make money for her, Daisuke, and their child.
I mean, it's not like she can get any more pregnant at this point, right?

Rumors of this start to spread around school, along with rumors of her pregnancy once she starts to show more and more.

This leads to her teacher investigating, and calling her in for a meeting - which we see in her story "Ooya-chan no Botebara Kyouiku Jisshuu‼".

Through blackmail, coercion, and maybe (eventually?) honest affection, she gets her teacher to start supporting her (and she starts working at Sakura's restaurant, as shown in Sakura's second story ""Sakura-chan-chi no Oyakodon 2-haime!").

This puts Mai and Daisuke in a little better position, since they now have a responsible, working adult around to support them and their family.

While we don't get to see Daisuke much, it doesn't necessarily mean he's out of the story - we just don't know what he's doing (or is being done to him) during/after Mai's pregnancy, and in the ten year time skip at the ending of Case 03.

That said, it DOES look like Hachishaku-sama and the girls from Case 02 managed to escape their limbo at some point in the ten year time skip.
In the least, they've managed to visit a church outside of Hachishaku-sama's domain, and the two girls also don't seem to be pregnant in the church (though that could due to youkai magic or just artist's choice. After all, he didn't show Mai visibly pregnant at the very start of her story, either, even though she definitely was).

well its somewhat possible, but i simply prefer linear storylines that at least stick with that main character (since in the CASE 02 ending that seemed a nice possibility) rather than introducing new males in the same one to create NTR feelings. Even though im not sold, let's see how it continues as im interested in a kitsune story
