The bandit in the elf body cut himself loose at the last second and removed the curse immunity talisman the black hair girl has, making her also partake in the switch.
Bandit swapped with black haired girl.

Elf got her original body.

I’m confused how people are reading it as the guy swapping into the black haired girl? He doesn’t have a knife or anything in his hand and the black haired girl is putting a jacket on her in the last frame which is unnecessary if it’s just the guy again. She’s freaking out cause she’s pregnant with a goblin is how I read it. I can’t see anything that’d indicate that he swapped with the black hair girl? Still a sucky ending for her but ya know

The end of the story did happen, but that was from the Elf girl inside of the goblins body's perspective. There is more after the afterword, and it is from the Bandit's perspective right before the swap happens. On page 41 you see him with the knife, coming up with and acting on the plan.

Meanwhile back at the ending from the Elf perspective on page 38 you can see the bandit (now the black haired girl), with the knife in his hand.
