Besides the great artstyle, the story is what I really enjoy about Kubikiri's guro works. Same with Knights of Romnius, and how most of the girls in that series got a small bit of backstory to "flesh them out", no pun intended, before and after their deaths. It adds a sort of tragic subtext to the actual artwork, like whole backstory behind the beast-girl, and how her owner/executioner is actually her biological father that raped and killed her mother in a previous decapitation contest, and will probably do the same with their daughter, and their granddaughter, with him being the father of all of them, and how she took the longest to kill because she couldn't speak human language, so unlike the other girls, she had no clue about the decapitation contest, and had literally zero time to mentally prepare for her death. Even after getting off to it and moving on, the story sticks with you, just a little bit, so it feels a lot more memorable to me than artwork of some generic naked girl getting chopped in half by a katana.
