Story:
Contrary to popular believe Sorceresses can not simply use magic to create money or just turn things into gold. Nor can they sustain themself through magic. They got to earn their coin same as everybody else.
Even with the backlash against magic all around, mages can still earn good money. In partiular with elaborate illusion spells to entertain the aristocracy and their offspring. The interactive magical fairy tales are the latest in fashion, while the "Land of a thousand fables" is the most famous example for it.

Hence Yennefer took up such a job to entertain a spoiled noble kid. She was payed to conjure the Halloween version of the "Snow White" fairy tale as written and developed by the late Atorius Viggo. Atorius was known to be the greatest illusionist ever and he loved to create fairy tale illusions for kids.
But to her demise she did not know that the old mage had turned in to a miserable misogynist in his old days and that he has incorporated this trait in his late work.

After the incantation of the magical formula she quickly noticed that this was certainly not the Snow White story she knew from her childhood days. As soon as she entered the illusion she found another crowd waiting for her instead of seven dwarfs:
"WTF!!! ... Aren't you supposed to be dwarfs?!", she asked tthe hulking figures surronding her. Too late she realized that Atorius had considerably altered the story. Now she will learn how Snow White earns her reputation to be "white as snow" in this new story version.
