Story:
Once a proud Italian knight, Malefice, became one of the first turned into a Malfested when shards of Soul Edge drove deep into his flesh. Where his peers turned into drooling and raging mutants, he managed to maintain his fighting technique and discipline while adding the power and agility from his mutations. Although he is now only a mere extension of Sould Edge's will, he has kept some form of self control and traces of rationality. That makes him a valuable asset in the cursed blade's arsenal.
Malefice is trusted to hunt and reap the strongest souls wherever they can be found in order to nurish Soul Edge in its strife to restore itself. For this purpose Malefice disguises as a regular mercenary and assassin to travel the world unchecked.

A perfect opportunity presented itself as a middleman hired his services for Lady Ivy Valentine to kill her rival Taki. By now Ivy was almost finished to free herself from the ties that bind her to Soul Edge, and the cursed blade would not have this! If it can not have her, it wanted her soul reaped for its nurishment at least. Apart from being a constant threat anyhow, a dead Taki would make an irresisteble bait to lure Ivy out of her hidding and seal her fate too.

Finding Taki was easy enough. The Demonhunter was so self assured that she was happy to let all her enemies know where she could be found. It was her way to effortlessly hunt them down, by attracting them. Malefice traveled to a Northern island of Taki's fabled homelands in the Far East. There she spents the winter season enjoying the local hot springs. Unlike the brainless demons she hunted, he did not attack immediately but was taking his time. Waiting, lurking, observing, and learning. And when she lets her guard down, he would move in for the kill.

Taki was a powerful warrior for sure. One that could easily best Malefice under normal conditions. But naked and unarmed she fell easy prey to the hulking Malfested. Taki's death cry reverberated through the heavens and hells as her head was violently seperated from her shoulders and her soul was slowly munched by the ever hungry Soul Edge, already waiting for this treat behind the veil of mundane existance.

Back in medieval Europe, Ivy could not ressist to personnally claim Taki's head as her prize and make it her toy. Oblivious to Malefice true identity she met the giant in a raunchy Tavern called the „Squealing hog“. As always Lady Valentine was completly self certain that she could hold herself against any threat that she might encounter.
Oh boy, will she pay for her folly!
