This is some WEIRD world-building...

You have birdoids that are clearly PEOPLE, who are able to live among and have very similar lives to those of Homo sapiens. Why are they still being regarded as a source of food?
How is a missing eye considered a defect on a bird that's meant to be eaten? Nobody's eating the head, and are we NOT supposed to focus on how much more MEAT this particular bird has to offer?
We saw no comical resistance or hesitation from whoever else was involved in giving Toki her makeover. Do people in this world OFTEN buy meat animals and dress them up so they're prettier?
Does Kallisto-86 have different laws regarding what's considered food and what isn't? Why should Toki be excited about migrating to a new planet that's colonized by the same people who tried to eat her here on Earth?
Toki's being reset to her "original programming"? This seems to imply that her intelligence was granted via artificial means. Does her species not occur in nature? Was she BRED to be what she is? If so, why even grant her intelligence in the first place? If birds are programmed to have their fear taken away to make them 'not resist' the process of being processed, what possible advantages could their be to REINSTATING that fear before sending a bird into space?
If overpopulation is such a problem that every family on Earth is limited to one child each, wouldn't other methods be explored before kicking people off into space would be considered a realistic option? Maybe putting the wife's eggs on ice, or for even MORE pornographic potential, maybe each husband is issued a surrogate partner from some other species to help lend a genetically incompatible hand for when he's horny. lol
If overpopulation is so bad that they think colonizing another world is the best thing they can do, why is it required of every tag-along wife that she MUST be pregnant? Maybe you want good breeding stock on this new planet, but when the primary reason for seeking this new planet in the first place is overpopulation, don't you want to put even the SLIGHTEST of caps on how much breeding is happening? How about we worry about breeding after everyone is safely on this new planet? Are we not at all concerned with the stress on the bodies of these expectant mothers during the journey?
With overpopulation being the horror show that it apparently is, why are over-the-counter drugs for kickstarting ovulation still a thing?
Is Toki's need to "mentally prepare" for hooking up with this guy she's already throwing herself at (not to mention the added kick of the chemically-induced estrus) a side affect of the deprogramming she had earlier?

@RobDollar: the fact that Toki ended up at the butchers shop because of a missing eye was probably because she was originally meant to be sold as a sex slave/pet for a customer or a worker in a brothel, instances where the least little defect would detract value. As for the whole eating thing, you got me there. Why create a sentient animal from one meant to be food?

@RobDollar I understand your meaning. However in their future, meat Bioroids usually aren't Sapient. Toki was just sent to be one because she was labeled a defect. It was up to the buyer what would be done with her. And yes, her intelligence was artificially given as a Bioroid. Bioroids are essentially clone constructs that have few rights because they are deemed property unless given human rights. And their minds can be altered to suit buyers or situations. Toki being reset meant that she was able to become more her own person, than just being programmed to act how someone wants. Andher becoming pregnant in order to become Eric's wife in less than a week is not so farfetched when he just bought her. More will be explained about that later. But the fact is humans often play god when given the opportunity. And each generation seems to have different values from the last, for better or worse. This could very well be our future. Let's look at the Haydee video game for instance. All the Haydees seemed sapient in their own right, just not able to speak. But they were all cloned just to be put through near impossible challenges, one after another. And the exit was even blocked. Leaving them to simply die there because they refused to stop trying to escape.

Also, if you look at the anime Beastars, it's way more messed up than anything I've drawn. I that anime world, a bunch of the children born are designated for the meat market, and sold alive or dead. The best friend of the main character originally came from the meat market till he was bought by his adopted father. And the MC also ate the poor guy's leg off at one point. At least Bioroids are created and sold as full adults and not children. What's more, this isn't nearly as messed up as the large amount of pointless vore you'll see in hentai.

Also, the planet Kallisto-86 does have better laws regarding sapient Bioroid treatment as they don't end up being turned into meat there for being defects.

I'm curious so if she's missing an eye does she problems with Depth perception or does she have like 20/20 vision with one eye.
