He explained on his Verbal Ase channel a few days ago that the video was intended for a second channel with more mature subject matter and was uploaded in 2022 before he changed his mind and deleted the channel and video. It makes sense, but I'm doubtful that isn't just attempted damage control since it sounds like exactly what would be said if he actually did spend a lot of money on a waifu soft core porn video.

If true my guess is both the video and how much it cost being leaked might be related to whoever worked on it being annoyed that something they worked on and finished was never going to be released. Same stuff occasionally happens with cancelled and unfished games, movies, and TV being leaked by someone who worked on it. That kind of thing happening is part of why studios are a lot more careful and controlling about unfinished or canceled projects these days, especially with how easy media can be distributed online. For example, The Batgirl film and WB's unreleased tax write off cancellations were apparently very quickly scrubbed with little to no announcement to staff according to the few people who have talked about it.

It's possible he leaked it himself even for publicity. Seems suspicious it was leaked so close to Hazbin Hotel's premier on streaming. I didn't even know who Verbalese was until this video was getting commented on and mocked elsewhere.
