Don't think it's quite that bad to get caught by the dad. He doesn't seem like like a bad guy and his talk in the car in the last episode seems to indicate that he'd love his kids no matter what.
He might be disappointed, he might be angry, but I doubt he'd really do anything bad to them. More of an embarrassing sitdown to talk about things rather than screaming and hitting and disowning and throwing people out etc.

Maybe I'm overthinking it but I don't think there's anyone at their door. Seb looks confused, clearly he didn't hear or see anything and he seem to be reacting to Serah's sudden startle. I think Serah just remembered something she forgot to do earlier. She was supposed to call Morissa once she talked things out with Seb and the ewe has probably been waiting all day to hear any news from her friend. Serah must be thinking that her friend is worried sick and assuming that things went wrong.

@grenout I kinda disagree. While I do agree its NOT something coming from the door (their is neither hallway lights or sounds coming from and open/opening door). But Sarah is definitely seeing something. Otherwise why would her eyes go pinpoint. Further Seb is only partially reacting to her, he is actually turning his head toward whatever she is looking at; as denoting by the the little circle/swoop motion line just to the left of his forehead in the last panel. If Seb were only reacting to her he'd just be starting directly at her. So odds are still on favorite for an interruption by Morissa staring at them from a window.

Well, this is what Jayden was trying to prevent. Her whole thing was that if Seb and Sera kept it up, Keith would find out eventually and she didn't want him to just find out like that. So I don't know what the plan was but it may be moot.
I don't think they planned to keep Keith from ever finding out, but I think they were going to do it in some way that would be easier for him to take.
Right now, though, I think Keith is in shock at this discovery and he's going to need to process that. We're going to have to see what happens in the morning.

ETA: From re-reading, I think the plan involves them getting married or somehow becoming committed to each other.

I'm guessing we'll be seeing a flashback from Keith's perspective. We'll probably find out who his former partner (the mother of his kids) was, and I'm guessing that it might be his own sister (if he ever had one). Because of this flashback, Keith probably fears that the twins could suffer the same fate, where something happens that potentially leads to the twins' ties getting severed.

Pg. 23 & 24 - Given what they're wearing, this looks like it's right after they took that big family photo in their home. So...wow, they were putting up quite a front.

Pg. 26 - This is the point we like to call: Shit. Went. Bad.
It's clear she's been blaming herself pretty hard for what happened, harder than she usually lets on. But with how often that comes up, both in reality and fiction, it would have been quite the plot twist if she really WAS somehow responsible, at least in part, for the unknown-until-now event that split her family.

@ Kratzy2 Possibility it could also be a cousin. But I suspect in a page or two the fight will reveal some quintessential info on Jayden and Keith's true relationship, maybe a twister like Jayden is the kids true mom. Yeah, yeah I know, but in their world it could be BNA rules and not Beastars rules regarding that.

My theory now is that Keith and the mom weren't really going steady or anything but they accidentally got pregnant and so he decided he needed to "be a man" and ended up marrying her. (I'm remembering his talk with Seb about his "girlfriend" and how if he got her pregnant he needed to face the consequences "as a man")

So the mom has been insecure about their marriage ever since because she doesn't know if he actually wants to be with her in the first place or if he only married her because he felt like he had to. And so when he tells her that his ex contacted him and he responded, her paranoia kicks in that he want to leave her and run off with the ex. He may even have been serious with the ex at one time before they broke up.

@SuikoRyos Oh I know it's biologically possible. It's just something that would require a VERY specific set of circumstances to happen so I doubt that's the case here. It'd be a pretty wild reveal to throw in at this point, as well. There's been no hint of it previously and I can't see how that would help the story along.

Especially when we don't see anything indicative of them blowing thru the stop sign like opposing headlights coming at them from the side or front. I wonder what the sudden change in scene lighting could mean or is it just an odd mood change BK is trying to convey. Because if its for mood shift I don't think it works that well.

@KitsuneOtaku In 26, panel 2, the stop sign is ahead of them. Panel 3 they are going past it because they are arguing and Keith is not looking at the road. Panel 4 has the headlights of an oncoming vehicle about to hit them. The lighting change is probably both to better show the headlights and because it's probably the last thing Serah remembers of that night before they got hit. And it's hitting the side that the mom is on, so she probably died on impact.

@KitsuneOtaku I think it's supposed to be for dramatic effect, along with BK trying to imitate how our eyes perceive bright light. When you look directly at a spotlight everything that isn't the spotlight will get darker as the eyes try to adjust to the bright light source.

@BigBbBun I doubt it has anything to do with the fact they're screwing in general. I mean almost from the beginning of the comic she pretty much stated she knew. It may be caused by one of two other things. One their non stop rutting is not inline with the plan Jayden set up with Sarah. Finally were gonna get some more exposition coming and learn what this 'plan' is. I see Sarah is still a little bit too full of herself (and Seb's cum) to want to accept advice from a wiser person with her and her family's best interest at heart. Nice to see ZEEB mom say what the two young dum dums haven't thought about. Perhaps it will wake them up and make them think a little more globally and long term about the kind of sex they're having. Though it would still be nice to see Sarah, as well as Morissa, get knocked up by Sebastian. I kinda like Seb's response. To him he already gained everything he could've asked for, a better relationship with his sister. Sure it's sexual, but it's opened his eyes to a side of his sister he probably never expected to see. He's at a point where nothing could make him really want to end things. And i don't think he's not thinking about the risks, remember he was the one who tried to stop this in the beginning. He already knows they can't really go back. But he has no real regrets about things coming this far. He'd rather continue than worry about what other people will think in the long run, because what could they give him that's more valuable than what he gained from his sister over a week?

And i think Sarah realized something similar the night before. So i imagine her response will be the same if not close. I do wonder how Jayden will respond though. Will she call Seb naive for thinking only about his sister? Will she find it endearing and understand that this is more than just a pair of kids having sex, but an actual pair of genuine lovers? Only time will tell.

So from Jayden's perspective, these two are just horny for each other and don't want to stop having sex. To her, it seems about all they do whenever they are alone. However, her concern is how this would affect Keith when he eventually found out on his own.(She doesn't know Keith already found out)

My guess is her plan is to have them tell Keith and she likely coached them on the best time and way to do it. However, she's also having them prepare because he may not be able to accept it and come down with a "not under my roof" ultimatum. Hence the packing for....wherever they would go after. From her dialog, it sounds like Jayden was also promiscuous in her youth and it eventually led to her parents kicking her out of the house or sending her away somewhere (maybe that's why she and Keith split up? Not by choice but by her getting shipped off somewhere with no way to contact her?)

Anyway, I think what Seb said here was something Jayden needed to hear. Again, she only knows that the two can't seem to stop fucking each other all the time. Which is why she's telling them that if they could just NOT do that, they could continue living in security. This is the first she's heard from Seb talking about Serah that has nothing to do with sex. This is going to be her realizing that he is IN LOVE with her, not just in lust. They can't just go back to before, even if they wanted to. And Seb, at least, doesn't. My guess is that Serah feels the same way but is just less open about saying that, especially to Jayden.

@MorphoTron Yeah, early on I thought that their mom had died in a car accident that also cost Keith his tail and ear tip, but then later was the panel with the "family portrait" with their mom and it was already missing. So looks like I was right about a car wreck being what happened to the mom, but wrong about it being the reason for his ear and tail. It may not ever come up, honestly. It's possible that it's just something that happened when he was a kid or it could be an industrial accident if he's in construction or something like that. Looks like it may turn out to have no bearing on the story and just be something that blackkitten put in the design because he wanted to. :)

He does seem to actually care in the previous chapter when talking to Seb and it really makes me think that his wife before the wreck was also his sister (yay). Yes my old theory is still in the running that Jayden is the mom of at least one of the kids. We also know next to nothing about Kieth's first wife. And given Kieth's stated belief's, he manned up and married the first one who he knew he impregnated. For all we know things can still change, and Kieth's first wife might escape the isekai world she was hurled into after getting hit by the truck. We do know that Keith and Jayden were together for a while then broke up. I don't think the mom was a rebound, but I do think that they were dating for a while when she got pregnant and Keith felt it was his duty to marry her. I don't think that he did not love her or that that was the only reason he married her. But that seems a large part of why she was so insecure when she found out he'd been talking to Jayden. From the argument in the car, it sounds like something that she had brought up before, that he was only with her because he got her pregnant.
But yeah, from the way Jayden is acting, I'm sure she's going to some location that she knows about that the kids don't. Some place Keith goes when he needs to think. Could be the mom's grave, could just be a place in a park or something that she knows about, either from when they were dating or that he has mentioned. I get the sense that Jayden and Keith were very close when they were dating and that their split wasn't because they didn't want to be together anymore. Maybe her parents are fundamentalists or something and took her off somewhere because they found out she was dating Keith. We assume she is a sex worker due to Sera's comments, but it's possible she has a night job of some other sort which is why she's able to be at the house when the kids are at school.
Guess we'll have to wait for more pages. Waiting for the next one to go up is the worst part! :)

But it makes a convenient place to sit, out away from the city where it is quiet. Keith is processing what he has found out and still hasn't decided how he should respond, which is why he hasn't come back home yet. As I suspected, though, Jayden knows about this place and guessed that if they couldn't find him anywhere else, he'd be here. Yes, it does look like he was crying in that last panel. Which is understandable. We've been getting the impression, that Keith is a doer, not a thinker. And this may well be the biggest amount of real consideration he's done in his life. And now he's also putting his own life in perspective as well; so crying is understandable. This also may be the very first time he's really manned up as a father making command decisions for 'the family'. So we'll see how this goes and if he can really go through with his edicts.

@KitsuneOtaku This is actually good storytelling. It's following the "show don't tell" rule. The comic would be much less entertaining if there was just a panel where someone just rattles off the whole plan in one go. There would be no point in continuing after that because we'd already know what they are going to do. This way keeps us guessing and speculating between updates. The wait between updates is the only thing that I would argue is "frustrating", but then again we are getting this for free here so we really can't complain. You can go support the artist at his Patreon if you want more pages sooner.

@IronHide77777 Well, you're mostly right, but you're putting all species into the same bucket there. I can't say anything about fictional therianthropes, but humans have fewer chromosomes than, say, horses, and get hit harder than that.

Certainly a single generation of inbreeding between siblings is no more likely to screw up a child than a woman having (outbred) kids in her 40s, but multi-generational inbreeding tends to be bad. Look at Pakistan, they fuck their cousins over 85% of the time. They're a large minority in the UK, but despite being the minority they make up the vast majority of genetic defects in that nation because of the CONSTANT inbreeding.

Siblings would take the same problem and make it even more rapid. Let's go over some punnet squares.

Dad has AB chromosomes and Mom has CD chromosomes.

The kids of that would have 25% AC, 25% AD, 25% BC, 25% BD, individually. That means they have a 1 in 4 chance on each chromosome pair to have the exact same set. That's no a sure thing on an individual chromosome chance, but a bit of binomial distribution shows it's a 99.8662% chance that one or more chromosome pairs are shared, and it averages out to 5 or 6 chromosomes will usually be shared.

Let's look at just one of those pairs, say they have AD chromosomes. If those kids have kids with each other, that means that the kids are 25% AA, 25% AD, 25% DA, and 25% DD. For all intents and purposes DA and AD are the same, but that's not what we're interested in. We're looking at the AA or DD, both of which are homozygous.

EVERY trait on an AA or DD pair is activated, no matter how recessive, because they are all repeated across identical (sans minor mutations) chromosomes. Now my research has told me that this isn't devastating in and of itself, but compounded, it can get bad quickly. Even 2-4 geneartions can have severe fertility/viability problems.

To make it worse, that double-pair is now locked in place *forever* until the subsequent generations either outbreed or die off. Every single generation subsequent will have the exact same homozygous chromosome in that pair, because DD DD can only produce more DD and AA AA can only produce AA.

Every generation a family inbreeds, its genetic diversity diminishes. One if fine, but I would balk at the idea that they can keep going for as long as, say, horses, without SEVERE problems.

I'm really not sure if Jayden was meant to be more than a sex worker when she was first introduced. @iegeneus it's not that easy. Just think about how Serah has been acting towards her for almost the entire story. I'm pretty certain that Keith would have loved to have her as a step mom for the kids, but the way his kids felt about her made him not want to escalate the situation. I'm also pretty certain that Serah blames her as much as herself for the death of her mom. Basically if Jayden hadn't shown up and Keith hadn't texted her, Serah's Mom and Keith wouldn't have had their big car fight and Keith wouldn't have had been distracted and her Mom would still be alive. It seems Serah had taken over her moms position regarding Jayden practically out of guilt for having added to her parents being distracted. Considering how similar Serah and Jayden are in their demeanor it's pretty sad because Jayden would have probably been a good influence on Serah. If the mom wouldn't have died, Serah might have even come to idolize Jayden a bit, if Jayden would have gotten the opportunity to getting to know the family that is... with how sensible the mom was about Keith's and Jaydens past relationship that would of course had been difficult.
