Archived images from an ongoing auction currently live of Tatsuo Yoshida's original concept art illustrations for Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. Each drawing was found in its original folder and are all 271 x 368mm (10 x 14 inches), drawn with an array of mixed media such as colored pencil, graphite, water color, acrylic and gouache on cold pressed paper.

The following quote from ``Dreams for the Children of the World'' (Author: Osamu Tajima, Mediax)
``It's not a joke. A single line is important to us, whether we live or die! That's how much we risk our lives.'' I would be very sad if you said that to me.''

In the same book, Noah Kawai, who worked on many copyrighted illustrations for Tatsunoko Productions, also mentions the lines drawn by Tatsuo Yoshida, "The President is an Emerald. I like green colored pencils, so I draw a rough sketch with that color, and at the end, I quickly draw the lines with black, and one of them is amazing-" and "This is the only line I can't get my hands on."

Based on information from the seller as listed in the auction, one image depicting a male looking upward drawin blue pencil is actually by a young Yoshitaka Amano who was working as an animator at Tatsunoko Pro at the time. The other images of Berg Katse's side view and of the G-2 driving are presumed to be done by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko (of which I was told based on the script, though I am still confirming).

Tatsuo Yoshida's dynamic lines fascinated people, and it's still a miracle that these documents remained untouched and well preserved. I simply color corrected these documents to make them look as they should as the seller has scanned them in far too dark with a RGB profile vs a CMYK. I felt that CMYK was better at capturing the blues as they should have been shown. These documents would have been shown to executives at Tatsunoko Pro at the time as well as backers and are one of a kind originals.
