I think if they put in the effort to grammar check, etc, you can get to like 75% quality of a good real translation.
That's acceptable to me in the case of the tons of series that have been partially translated then abandoned for years, or lesser known artists who aren't snatched up to be translated immediately.
If you must MTL, please go after those, there are a ton to choose from, and you are more likely to make someone who has been waiting for years happy, rather than pissing literally everyone off.
