When your protagonist is so evil that you forget all your questions about the magical phone app and why tf he even got access to it and who tf made it and for what purpose decided to give it to some random schmuck.
This kinda works for the mind control fetish if you self insert as the victim, but the revenge angle that seems to direct us to identify with the dude throws a wrench into that. I guess it's a matter of taste.
