Nobody is forcing you to read this, and you can filter, so you're here by choice. if you go out of your way to seek out a MTL gallery and then complain that it's MTL, you don't care about translations, you only care about bitching.

I'm curious about the reasoning for the "defaced" tag. I don't see watermarks, ads or anything that would qualify. Are we now making the tag system useless out of spite for MTL?

Japanese conjugation and verbs could mislead MTL to translate proper meaning from these words and sentences, besides, if you translate one kanji per kanji is not sufficient, one kanji or coupling could mean different words.

You know even proper translations use MTL, but this one is really low effort at least clean and proofread the texts it hurts to see this kind of sloppy work especially if the one your translating has a good artwork etc. Its also tiring to see this kind of work getting copy pasted also on ***** and other sites like it.

Probably the most popular opinion ive seen and one I think has some truths against MTL translations is that it discourages translators that may have wanted to work on a project from doing so anymore because a translation exists now. Albiet a shitty one but it exists nonetheless. Without data and stats who can really say? Also some other ones Ive seen is, MTL's becoming more accepted makes them more normalized which now you have shitty translations running amok.

Personally I think if the work just came out hold off for awhile before you immediately churn out a MTL for it. Like can you not wait 6 or 7 months? Maybe someone translates in their free time and needs those months to work. Or someones saving a bit of their paycheck each month to put out a commission from something they really wanna see translated. So much hentai, porn, pornhwas, doujins, etc comes out every month that then maybe you could make the argument that an MTL pushing something a year old back to the front of the page is a reminder to someone, "oh yea! I forgot about this and I do still wanna see it translated properly."

I actually do not mind MTL specifically, problem I have with MTL is everything that goes with it.
MTL people are never proof-read, ever, for some reason. I really don’t understand it.

At least fix all grammatical errors and where it’s “she” when it’s “he”, and “he” when it’s “she”.
I don’t even mind if there is zero redrawing.

Can't even bother to do basic edits for gender and context huh? You understand that OCR translators CANNOT derive gender and correct pronouns from Japanese because they can't analyze the surrounding image or who is speaking or who they are speaking to, right? Japanese is highly context dependent. Do you even bother thinking about this? For 90% of the manga the woman is constantly referred to with male pronouns and it ruins the reading experience because it makes it seem like a crossdresser or something. Fucking moron OP.
