Uneducated guy about translation here:
Might I ask what exactly is so wrong with the translation.
I get that MTLs shouldn't be the standard to go for and that we might be missing out on a real translation because of this.
But as far as I have read at least the grammar seems okay. And the translation isn't referring to everyone as "He" like many MTLs I have seen do. That they are always going with these long names was a bit weird.

Is there other stuff that MTLs mess up I don't know about? Please enlighten me.
Or did the MTL mess up the actual meaning of the testboxes. That would probably be the worst for me. Because then I wouldn't be able to tell D:

I was just happy to see a Honey Lounge post again after what felt like ages. And as a lazy consumer I am just happy to have some kind of translation as long as it helps me understand a little bit of context, though I as well would prefer a better quality, I am ashamed to admit that I prefer MTL over none at all... Though it is sad that it might barr the posibility of a decent translation. (But should it butcher the original meaning I am very much against MTLs as well)

Edit: Okay after reading over it again, I want to change my rating from "grammar seems okay" to "grammar is barely not terrible". Sometimes weird words are used instead of what I think they are trying to say, and they might not refer to everything as "He" but "It" is barely better. It's... mostly... coherent (and that's being genererous). Yet I still think to have seen even worse as far as machine translations go.

Edit 2: How did I mange to only pick the best pages when test reading. Read the whole thing now. I can confidently say: "It's bad. Really Bad."

I can at least understand the argument "MTL is better than nothing" for works that have gone years without a translation (especially for niche stuff), since at that point the chances of getting a proper translation are already thin. But not for something that is barely 3 weeks old. They didn't give it a chance to get a proper translation to begin with...

And even then, I'm only talking about MTL that has actual human effort behind it to make it coherent English-wise, not the shitty low-effort kind where you let the machine do all the work and just post the result as is like it's the case here. Those are unacceptable no matter what.

@DJ_Puchuu I won't deny it, I was mostly speaking in terms of harm done by releasing a mtl version rather that the quality of the translation itself.
And honestly, I myself really started to care about these things when I started learning the language myself (or maybe since I started getting more involved with this website, which os pretty much around the same time). Before I, like most people, would be pretty much content as long as the english in good and it's not a deliberate rewrite (which I wouldn't be able to know anyway). Which is why I can understand where they are coming from, even though I also get that it doesn’t make it right.

@KotaroSan You must be trolling for saying 3 days is enough time to properly translate, edit and proof read the whole thing. 3 weeks is nothing when we waited more than 5 years to even have a sequel in the first place. You are not a fan; a fan would have waited, not supported sabotage like this. If you really want to use MTL to get a feel for the story that’s fine, but keep it to yourself. Don’t post it and ruin it for everyone else.
