had the pleasure of attending Kawamori's panel at AnimeNYC 2024 and still wonder if he was trying to get out of doing any more Macross when he proposed this insanity/ambitious of a project

basically when the producers approached him to make a new Macross, he proposed this and Macross Plus as a more "normal" alternative and the producers went with both which I don't think he could've predicted, hell I still look back at this and think WTF were they thinking of
