Yeah, breathing through liquid is very much possible known science, the actual problem from what I understand is a little different; Your body fucking hates it and it feels like you're drowning the entire time. It's basically torture, and you can't exactly get very much done like that, so it's not a very useful bit of tech right now.

I was a teenager when this show came out. Spent many pubescent days fantasizing about how hot these three would look without any clothes on.
