Because Yusuke said that he was very shy by nature, and maybe he thought trying to find a girlfriend all on his own would be more difficult than what he was willing to attempt, I'm thinking it was more of mix of both options; and perhaps Yusuke stayed attracted to Chiaki because he already had the cuck fetish developing himself.

However, the netorare aspect of the story seems kinda weak, since the girl has essentially already 'fallen', and the guy was aware of her hooking likely since the beginning. We do see Yusuke sort of being uncomfortable with what Chiaki is doing, but he's also excited by it. Time will tell if he actually reaches a breaking point, but this girl seems absolutely devoted to her lifestyle--even beyond the payment reward of it.

In my opinion, the best netorare stories are when everything seems normal, and there are no obvious sexual deviance or fetishes between the partners that would hinder their relationship. The male protag might get hints that something is off with his partner, and may even have chances to prevent her eventual fall, but certain personal and/or external factors prevent him from effectively doing anything about it until it's too late. All during this time, the audience, us, are either cheering the protag on if he seems likeable in any way, or cursing his incompetence if he's an idiot. We might even cheer on the female protag if it seems like pressure she's encountering is beyond her ability to feasibly control--while also keeping her relationship with the male protag intact.

It's when all is revealed to the male protag that the entire weight of betrayal by his lover and the palpable anguish that follows hits the audience the hardest. Admittedly, NTR stories like this are kind of rare, especially those that have any actual character development and depth to them, and I'd ask if anyone here knows of any that at least somewhat fit the parameters above. Rarer still are the stories where the male protag actually succeeds in reclaiming his tainted lover; I'd mark those as among the best.
