I've been thinking about Silent Hill lately, specifically about the nurses...
This is just my fanfic on how they are made; A slow corruption of body and soul while getting bred and drained by eldritch tentacles.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Silent Hill and the Bubble Head Nurse. I understand the fanfic idea, but the concept of being corrupted doesn't add up.

*Warning Spoiler* The nurse originally came from James's manifestation of his mind, not from the residents of the town. Basically, while Mary was dying from her disease in a real-world hospital, James became frustrated with mixed emotions (anger, lust, guilt, etc.). While he was watching over Mary, he encountered so many nurses that he found them attractive but avoided looking at their faces or saw so many that they became a blur. Hence, the nurses' faces became obscure (bubble head) but their bodies are sexy. The sound of the bubble head nurse's voice might be inspired by the patients in the real-world hospital who were either coughing or making sounds of pain, which disturbed or (laughter from nurse interactions) irritated James every time he visited Mary. Konami developers have loved the character and wanted the nurse and Pyramid Head to be part of the series ever since.

Hey thanks for the comment. I'm actually familiar with Silent Hill 2's lore but it's more inspire by the live action film where a demonic entity corrupted the entire village, and probably the workers at the hosiptal. But again, it's just a flavor text for my fetish and I didn't really wanna be bound by the canon story - the reason why I used the word fanfic. Should've added "silly" before it :p Hope that cleared it up.

Huh. Two comments that for very different reasons I can agree with. That's kind of nice to find on the internet.
As much as I think the Western developers after 4 really missed the point of Silent Hill, I did like that a hospital is such a disturbing place irl that almost all the characters in SH have in one way or another manifested a nurse monster.
Silent Hill 1 does feature real nurses and doctors that have been taken over by a parasite (although it can be argued they're also mental manifestations) so I guess this fan fic more or less makes sense. lol.
