Honestly I don't care much for this trope, but this has been dragged on for so long that I just want to know if the childhood friend is getting a happy ending or not.
The author said there won't be any sex between them "for a while", but right now the story is them talking about the whole situation (as in the guy tells her he knows all about her sex escapades and they both know they like each other now). That leaves 2 scenarios:

1) Either he manages to make the conversation last a million billion years, which wouldn't be great because WE already know everything so it would just be a repeat of everything, but from her POV explaining it to the guy.

2) The author goes out of his way to have something NEW happen, in which case the "for a while" doesn't make sense at all, because it would mean she betrays the guy, then goes back to him at some point.

New part of the story seems to be about the boy having some relationship with another girl. But that was in the past, so it shouldn't affect the whole situation that's happening right now. I don't have high hopes for a happy ending (because of the image of the guy ejaculating from seeing her have sex and the whole "for a while" thing), but I also can't guess the direction because the author seems to want to drag it out by a lot.

my money is on a "happy ending" where either the guy accepts and is happy being a cuck or they just dont get together so they're just friends with history. either way i can clearly imagine the story being rushed as the author slowly whittles away at people's patience. it happens to some of the best as being brief and to the point is a difficult skill

Yeah, that's probably what I'd bet on too. But that honestly would just make the story a dime a dozen and not really worth much time (other than the few fetish aspects like feet and tomboy).
I kinda want to see something differently happen, something that isn't completely brain-dead. But the authors word and the pretty damn stupid way the situation started doesn't really make it seem like it will be going in that direction, but a man can dream.

Edit: Asked the author. He says "it's supposed to be a happy ending" so there's that. Unfortunately I do not really know what exactly a "happy ending" is to someone who writes NTR, so yeah...
