@blart, it looks obvious that it's a wig but I don't think that the cosplayer had much of a choice. I can't imagine that it'd be easy to get a wig in orange that looks natural

that's why i dont think that japanese are very well suited to coseplay as their own anime/manga characters, they just dont have the hair or, to be frank, the faces for it, a majority of thier anime characters look american, or british, which is kinda weird huh?

all im saying is that, for a majority of anime, hentai, and manga, coseplay would be better when performed by caucasions, this being one that most definatly should be, considering the character's skin, hair, and eye color, of course, if you could find a japanese coseplayer with the features for it then that works too, but this isnt the kind of character that just anyone from japan can pull off comepletely, having said that, i'd say she pulled off about an 80% accurate coseplay, gestures, outfits and facial expressions are all good, wig helps and hurts at the same time, but she cant help that, she is a good coseplayer

How so? The first cosplayer's wig is styled closely after how it looks in the manga.

The Japanese artists exaggerate the features that are considered attractive in their own people. Some attractive features are fairer skin than average and larger eyes than average. You have been culturally conditioned to view big eyes and fair skin as European traits only (which isn't quite true), so that's how you interpret the highly stylized drawings. The big tell for anime characters are their flat faces, which is a distinct Asian trait.
