A lot of artists upload .PSD files which is the raw file containing the image layers used in Photoshop, and then he's hiding individual layers and saving them as if they're meant to be seen that way.

Totally agree, variants are cool and all but these aren't variants. He's literally removing bits and pieces the artist applied to bloat up a gallery.

This is bad for a few reasons. One, people viewing these think Bittercream does this shit intentionally. He does not. Second, it wastes the size of the gallery so if you're doing a gallery download... ggwp.
Not to mention if you're on a datacap it's just annoying to tab through 9 pages of the same shit.

That's not true though. Kemono wasn't updated for BitterCream from last May until just a couple of days ago, you can check that by the import date on all the posts. We had over half a year without any updates from Kemono when it came to BitterCream.

Yes, you get PSD files from Kemono, but do you really think it's 'faster' to open Photoshop and create variants yourself instead of just coming here and clicking 'Save image as'? How is that even comparable?

This ties into the second reason you mentioned. Why would anyone download an entire gallery when it's obvious that it's full of HQ variants, and you only need 2 or 3 at most? This provides a convenient starting point, allowing you to pick from these thumbnails and save what you need instead of dealing with a PSD file yourself and sorting all the options out and there is A LOT as proven by all these variants above.

As for your first reason, I have yet to see anyone bring that up against the artist. I highly doubt that’s happening when people are clearly attacking the OP who uploads these in almost every single one of his posts. Again, I’d rather get it like this than not get it at all. Hell, I even prefer it to going inside PSD files myself, as it’s way more tedious. You need to do it if you’re getting it from Kemono, since BitterCream uploads on Fanbox, meaning the images have to be censored, and you have to go in there yourself. How is that ‘faster’ than getting it like this? Attacking OP for providing literal ‘convenience’ is the most ridiculous thing you can do, considering this is objectively faster.

I know because he did that to me on Pixiv for several comics (which eventually did get uploaded). And no, he got these from Kemono. They might not have been uploaded here, but they're not new posts.

Second... the fuck? You're not supposed to sort through a dozen different lighting settings that the artist himself intentionally uses to finalize the image. This is like saying we should get variants of full color comics without the linearts and include every individual panel with every individual layer. No. If you get off to that then go make that shit yourself.
