Well, my dear Nobody - you know, how Tijuana Bible is not really a Bible, and has almost nothing to do with Tijuana?
A "nightstand book" is a next step on the evolutionary ladder, a missing link between small-scale mostly vanity-printed Tijuana Bibles of yea auld lang syne, and picturesque descriptions of your favourite imaginary e-waifu noisily deepthroating a horse depicted and delivered to you through the embarrassing of riches of modern porn extravaganza mediums - and exactly what is written on the tin: a book you keep on you nightstand near the bed, in your master bedroom, far away from children, to read something... appropriate to put you in the mood while you wait for your spouse to finish her "nose powdering" activities before joining you in bed.
Or, just, you know... MC's name in this one is "Jack Offten" - and that's, really, everything you need to know on that particular point.

If you want to know something less abstract and intellectually onanic, and far more comprehensible (or, at least, closer related to the story itself) before plunging in - just read the synopsis, or the bite-sized teaser on the back cover of the book.
