Seems a bit off if you're gonna force the guy to watch, then immediately brainwash him making that point moot; if they tossed a few mentions of unstable mental state accelerating brainwashing and needing fewer sessions, that would easily cover it.
I would have also thought they'd at least show a page or two of what his role as a slave is (whether its rounding up other girls, security, etc)
