Seriously. WTF? I get that some people don't understand the language and use Google to translate it, but why upload it? Do you want credit for being a lazy bastard? Anyone could take a script and put it through Google if they want a crappy translation. All this does is reduce the chance of a good translation ever being done.

You can always make the work of translating or typesetting yourself or commission translation by yourself.

Few things though. Are you against AI-made translations, automated machine translations, tool (machine) assisted translations, tool (dictionaries) assisted translation or non-tool assisted translations? There is a different between each in ethics and quality sense. From my own work I don't support AI-made translations nor automated machine translations, yet I do like to use tools as machine translation and using dictionaries (within language dictionaries, explaining meaning and idioms, not the language to language dictionaries) as they can help me notice and learn nuance that I would have possibly missed. On the other side not using tools at all is a pain (no dictionaries, no tools, just your brain and memory). I've had to do this and mistakes are more common than not. Also, the tone changes to the one I'm habitually using in this last case.

So are you expressing your dissatisfaction in comments that a proper translation doesn't exist because you are _waiting_ for someone to do or commission one? You are dissatisfied because someone else isn't ready to pay for an actual translator to do the translation. Pay for their professionalism and ability to read and express nuances in meaning and language by hiring a translation. You get what you pay for (I guess in this case you did not pay, if you have, then I'm agreeing you that it is a ripoff - yet... You did not pay anything).

If you want change or results, open your wallet or do the work yourself. At least this translation HAS put the effort into it and actually TRIED. I know to appreciate the effort someone puts into their projects - regardless of the end results, they have actually tried. More than most people are able to ever do on this planet.

Whining is free as are automated machine translations. Both are equally useful: Everyone just gets pissed.

I get what you're saying. People that simply whine and comment could commission a translation themselves. But as both I and the guy above us said: MTLs being posted like this reduce the odds of actual good translations being done. And while using machine translation as a tool is fine for the purpose you said, using ONLY the machine to translate will often result in hot garbage (which is seen most of the time here).

Personally, I feel that using an MTL for yourself is fine. But keep it to yourself. Don't post it online. That way, maybe people will start actually commissioning translations.

@phoenixneo1630 I had a whole paragraph written out for you, but I misread what you said, so I just deleted it. Oops! But I will leave the one bit of info I for anyone not seeing the issue. Translation groups look at what is already translated. It is not immediately known what is or isn't MTL. So now it adds another layer off annoyance when deciding projects. And these people can never even learn typesetting.

@IttePerkele Using tools is never the issue. But part of using tools is having a baseline level of knowledge to use the tools with. I agree this is one of the less offensive examples of machine translation, and I appreciate they tried to not just slap text on an image half-assedly like most. It still starts to have weird typesetting and translation mistakes toward the middle of the doujinshi. We went years and years where we got mostly quality translations for the same price of free. Now, because people have a tool to do it quickly at a lower quality, we are supposed to just accept it because the price is free? They could just not do the AI translation. Or they could follow your advice and pay for someone to do it. You sound like you might have done these types of projects like I have, but I guess we just have opposite reactions. This one is less insulting than most, but the typesetting mistakes are bizarre enough that I am not even sure if a human did the typesetting.
