Why yes, not everything does. Now what happens when people see a translation already up? We all know: People tend to skip it as they no longer feel the need to translate themself. If one wanted to put real effort into something, they should've done it themself in the first place. If I wanted a machine translation then I'd just boot up Google Translate.

Also, your example seriously sucks. What's actually being done is leaving a roomba to "clean" your floor only to then go behind it and mop. That floor isn't truly clean.

@Rune. That's kind of like asking someone that shampooed their carpet why they didn't just replace the flooring. It's even more effort using a different skill set that they might not even have.
Straight MTL is bad, but a good edit can elevate it to being similar to a more literalist human translator. Yes a good translation bridging cultural nuance and such is ideal, but not everything gets a translation so I think it's better to accept the translations that are just alright and get a larger body of work. If you disagree and it's a real mood killer for you, then just avoid the tag

i'd rather have feedback on how bad of a job i did editing this together, than just bashing me for not knowing japanese enough to claim full credit for translating everything, and resorting to google translate. like the spacing between lines, choices of fonts, re-drawing shit or not, that kinda thing. or even telling me to use, like, actual photoshop instead of paint dot net for it. that sort of thing.
