If you're going to the trouble of making it seem like science fiction, please do something about the conservation of mass. Use a transformation tank, or show a big release of heat and steam, or a burst of energy, or something. As it is now, it's just magic by another name.

geezame, the whole concept of this ship and its ecosystem is surreal. So why should we expect ultra-realistic reasons for character transformations? It’s all part of the fun! :)
