For the first comment, It says that kemonomimi are not the same thing as monster girls. The line was intended to be an absurdist commentary on the college campus "euphemism treadmill". I'm sorry it didn't land for you; it can be hard to convey sarcasm in text form.

For the second, this was not an attempt to set off yet another round of image board tagging wars, but just to summarize how the word is used conversationally as you'd find in (for example) the entry on wiktionary.

If you think these issues were enough to merit downrating the entire gallery... well, it's your vote, I guess.
