Edit: The artist posted the cover page on X with the caption "Who is who?" So it looks like there's a deliberate attempt to mix up the characters, and so I might have spoken too soon about AI, but I still think there are some weird inconsistencies such as their features being mixed up on page 3 right as they first meet each other.

Pg 5: Hu Tao also has Sparkle's shoulder tattoo and dots under her eyes. Either that or there are two Sparkles and one is wearing Hu Tao's hat

I'm hesitant to make accusations of using AI because I don't want to insult the artist, but this looks suspiciously like the tendency of AI to be inconsistent about prompts with multiple characters. The other possibility would be that this artist was quite neglectful about the details of both characters. I think it's more likely that this was just AI doing it automatically. The way the details got mixed up doesn't seem like something a human artist would even do by accident. Hu Tao's eyes and hat especially seem like things an artist wouldn't get backwards.

I think it's meant to be that they are cosplaying as one another. That would explain the weird "mix-ups"

It's almost certainly not AI. Hu Tao's Sparkle cosplay has the string around her thigh at the same orientation with the flower-shaped knot in the same location in every page it appears in. When it's being pushed up on Page 7, it has deformed naturally and it still oriented properly. AI would've fucked this up immediately.

They're literally just cosplaying each other. AI is living in your head rent free. GilderGun didn't even get the details correctly- the character with black hair is Sparkle and always has the tattoo and dots. The character with brown hair is Hu Tao and never has the tattoo and dots. Like "Page 5, Hu Tao also has" dude that's SPARKLE. Sounds like you are being quite neglectful about the details!
