Shigezane Kuon, the MC's father, invented Ibis, an artificial reality device that can be used meet people, but it also has a function to simulate haptic feedback, so you can high five your buddy. Since the dude's father made the device, he has access to the very expensive dev version of the device that, unlike the regular Ibis, can record your senses, so you can use it to make recordings and publish them to the store. Aira wants to earn enough money for her tuition fee, so she hatches a plan to make sex recordings and sell them for easy money, seeing as almost nobody is making them, but everyone's buying them (she said that her classmate's were spending all their part-time money on them). You can't be a student to publish to the store, but MC dropped out, so it works out.
