The one on the back is half of a poem from a collection of poems/card game called Hyakunin Isshu: "Let's be mutually compassionate, cherry blossom in the mountains. No one but ourselves know our true colors." A lonely man commiserates with a tree that no others appreciate them for what they are.
The one on the leg is from the Heike Monogatari: "The color of the flowers of the sal tree reveals the way of things; that the prosperous must fall." It appears to say that all beauty and wealth is ephemeral.
I must commend the woman on her calligraphy. She writes very clearly, which makes it a pleasue to translate.
