If I need to guess, angels have more androgynous because in their line of work they don't need to deal with anything sexual so many unnecessary curves are liability. Practically polar opposite of succubus trope. You know, definition of purity in name of THE God. If you need more professional explanation it is more in line of "the author like that design and keep with it".

It is quite common trope nowadays. Christianity is now almost commonly "fair game" for stories like that. Japan even gone a step further and made stories "devils are misinterpreted good guys while angels are deadly bullies" years ago, before it even hit mainstream. You can try and search for stories of other religions but there is big chance that even non-parodies were banned for some made up hate related reasons.

Page 491: My personal feelings about whole pronouns thing aside, those Succubugs looks awesome and now I want to know even more about lore of this world. My theory orbits around concept of human desires creating subclasses of Succubi when they are strong enough.

With all the crazy atention to detail that the artist shows in correctly (the hilarious kind of correct) depicting so much of the judeochristian mithology about angels and demons, I find weirdly diapointing that makes Sera fall for the "halloween is demon whorshipping" uneducated meme and NOT for the historically and theologically correct "halloween is a Christian festivity in which the costumes are to fool the demons the one day of the year that can cross into this world, so they believe they are still in Hell and turn back instead of staying".
