Here's my translation of XTER Comic's newest work "My Mother's Friend". I wasn't planning on working on this, honestly. I was hoping Xter's own english version would make it's way online at some point, but it never did. So, given that half of this episode is dedicated to Mommy Nush, I decided to go ahead and do it. Pretty solid entry imo, his best since "My Mother". Mommy Nush is seriously Xter's best creation till date, and given the fact that all of his releases so far have included her, his most popular one as well. It's such a shame that we haven't gotten a "My Mother" chapter 2 yet.

Bit confused here,is she the actual aunt or just a friend from the states who he nicknames aunt because she was around when he was growing up?
Might be a language thing but the book title and usage of "friend" in the intro is really throwing me off.
If its the latter the tag is wrong.

In Thailand, people often address those older than themselves with terms like "ปู่ - paternal grandfather, ย่า - paternal grandmother, ตา - maternal grandfather, ยาย - maternal grandmother ,ลุง - uncle, older than parent , น้า - aunt/uncle, younger than parent on mother's side, อา - aunt/uncle, younger than parent on father's side" even if they aren't related by blood. In a way, it's a way of showing respect to someone you might not know well.

In summary, the tag was wrong.

Folks in south asia in general called those who older than themselves with aunt or uncle. doesn't have to be family or relative. Maria is just another friend of the mother.
MC only have one aunt. the blonde teacher in chapter 3 of My sisteri is his blood relative aunt

As for the confusion regarding the "Aunt", Maria is only the Mom's friend, as the title states. Like the others have explained, people in certain Asian countries usually call those who are older than them Aunt or Uncle, as a sign of respect. I dunno who put the "Aunt" tag in there, I tried voting it down but it's still there.
