i bought the physical books of 11, 12 & 13
the books are very pretty, but the double page spreads are a bit hard to view properly

How do you get your scans to look so good? like the double page spread? I have miko books 9-13 but it's very hard to still keep them in pristine condition to do scans like this.

scans looking good: Mainly with photoshop
Scan, remove all the dust and shit, apply filters "reduce noise" and / or "smart sharpen"
Finally use waifu2x to get that digital feel
You can see the difference with and without w2x if you compare the cover, backcover or flyer with any other page, the cover, backcover and flyer are without w2x

As for the double spreads: if you have overlapping scans of the double spread, you can get perfect automatic stitching with "Hugin - Panorama photo stitcher".
Without overlapping scans: photoshop, but it is more work
