Back in Chapter 4 (before the ‘after’ https://e-hentai.org/g/2717273/3b73ad5b79/), I saw two people debating about the plot and sharing their preferences. But honestly, I think we’re missing the real issue here. The problem isn’t about liking or disliking certain fetishes or genres – it’s that some authors think that just because they’re making a Netorare work, they can throw in whatever nonsense they want without pushback. As if “it’s just NSFW content” makes up for everything.

And that’s a shame, because nowadays a lot of creators focus entirely on their art and stop caring about the writing, even the basic stuff. Just because it’s NTR doesn’t mean you should skip storytelling. One of my favorite doujins is Tatoeba Haha Ga, which mixes NTR, incest, etc., and yet across 6 volumes (about 200 pages each), the author still managed to write an actual plot that keeps you engaged for over 1200 pages. (6 x 200 = 1200 – for those who hate math lol)

These days, a lot of authors drop a trash plot, a trash development, and a trash ending (just my opinion of course), and expect people to accept it because “the art is 10/10.” That’s lazy.

I’d also add that many doujins – not just NTR – end up promoting really problematic ideas. Even if it’s fiction, some of them glorify the idea that raping someone again and again will eventually make them fall for their rapist, like some twisted version of Stockholm Syndrome. And again, that ties back to what I said earlier – under the excuse of “it’s just NTR,” authors feel free to write stories that make zero sense and push harmful narratives.

I know it’s all fiction and maybe I’m overthinking it, but still – if you’re going to write a story, at least put something solid behind it. Otherwise, just post random isolated images on Pixiv, Patreon, or Fanbox and call it a day

I like ClimbCrown's series for the art, although it could have done with a bit more emotional manipulation and storytelling. I agree that there are really lazy NTR comics, which are just short quick rape fantasies saying they are NTR and some that put in more effort to draw out the heroine's downfall (I really don't think good NTR can be accomplished in 24-40 pages; it needs to be extended over multiple chapters); but still fall into diverse sex acts over more storytelling or at least emotional manipulation.

While we're putting hot takes out here, I personally believe the cuckoldry (NTR) genre just fundamentally promotes a very bad practice for storytelling, because when you compare cuckoldry to a lot of other kinks, it is very rigid in terms of what the kink is. Like for other kinks such as pregnancy, feet, incest, and I'd argue even guro, yes those kinks don't exactly make for story value right away, but because there's no inherent story attached to those kinks you can go in a lot of directions on what a pregnancy doujin can be. It can range from wholesome vanilla sex love to cuck-based downfall stories to magical girl tentacle sex to even overtly complex lore-filled stories justifying why pregnant tummies are portrayed importantly here. So does feet, incest, guro, etc.

With cuckoldry though there's already a set way these stories can only go because of how the kink is: fundamentally it's just the kink of getting cheated on/getting the love of your life stolen from you and watching or knowing it happen. There's nuances in what makes it different with specifically netorare (the girl has to fall off and not just love the rapist but also denounce the person they formerly loved and apparently that's a big part of what makes netorare?), but the end result really is kinda the same right? It's still about you getting cheated on and liking the fact that you're seeing your girlfriend/boyfriend/whatever stolen from you and you can only goon and cry because you know and are aware of it.

Now I'll admit I have a lot of biases against netorare/cuckoldry seeing as half of the best pregnant doujins I like are unfortunately kind of infected with this shit and I just don't like seeing it (and end up having to stomach this kink being omnipresent because the pregnant belly stuff is worth it), but personally to me even the "best" netorare/cuckoldry stories are best only because they really delve and develop the characters in that story/dynamic as far as it could go, but the inherent underlying part of that kink remains the same: it's still the conceit of knowing your loved one is getting stolen and you just jerk off sadly about it.

Maybe I'll read this Tatoeba Haha Ga, hopefully that thing has pregnant belly action since that's really my singular main kink and why I even look out for these types of porn in the first place lmao
