Yandere tag doesn't need to be there.

No hate at all, it's just curiosity:
What's up in recent-ish years with japanese titles that are a mile long? Is it just to attract more readers by being as detailed as possible or is there another reason?

yes that is the reason, japanese readers want the full synopsis in the title hence it became meta

@Birate

AFAIK it became a trend in web novels because a popular site that hosts them doesn't have a provision for attaching a synopsis, so authors compensated for it by making long titles that vaguely describe the premise.

If the only thing the readers are going to read is the title, you may as well make it the entire blurb. This isn't even a Japan-exclusive thing, although I'm sure that the space-saving nature of kanji helps.

See also: "The Life and Strange Surprizing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe, of York, Mariner: Who lived Eight and Twenty Years, all alone in an un-inhabited Island on the Coast of America, near the Mouth of the Great River of Oroonoque; Having been cast on Shore by Shipwreck, wherein all the Men perished but himself. With An Account how he was at last as strangely deliver'd by Pyrates. Written by Himself"

Read the long cut at https://e-hentai.org/g/3391283/6f84e34449/. The yandere tag is very justified, plus it is justified here due to the marriage contract and blackmail.

That's the original title? My copy just said "Robinson Crusoe" in the cover

It's actually not a web novel thing, it's a paper thing. Bookstores have the spine facing the customers and to catch their attention, they'd put the summary on the title so that they didn't have to pull it out and read rhe back, because they are lazy.

@Remeark: It is. For another example, there's "Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World. In Four Parts. By Lemuel Gulliver, First a Surgeon, and then a Captain of Several Ships".
