This is just a little project I did by myself as a proof of concept kinda thing and thought I could perhaps share with you everyone.

The problem with AI Machine translators is that they most often ignore all grammar/sentence structure, the auto inpainting/OCR confuses between background and text, and the result is a huge mess of translation that makes it incredibly ridiculous and outright unreadable. Most often an insult to the author's original work.

So I thought what if I could attempt to do the editing instead. If anything it would be easier for me to read instead of AI Slop, while waiting for someone to translate it.

But here's the problem, I have limited knowledge in Japanese or scans/scanlation work, I do not know how to erase text/edit stuff proficiently. I have to rely on machine translation and my learning knowledge of Japanese to try and understand how the dialogue was meant to flow.

The process was incredibly arduous. It took me 5-6 hours of work to just translate the 26 odd pages you see here. I would run the image through the translator once and as you can possibly guess, a lot of things were jumbled up.

"He" became I, pronouns were messed up, sentence structure? Gone. "He's gonna make me cum" becomes "I am cumming!"

I had to run through each text through different LLMs, and see their take on it. One by one. Nigiri Usagi uses a lot of text on top of backgrounds so I too, had to erase and slowly painstakingly let the AI inpaint over. And then read everything to see if it goes smoothly.

It is not perfect, I am unable to know or understand certain Japanese nuances due to my lack of proper knowledge to understand Japanese. Manga uses a lot of SFX/Onomatopoeia that I do not know how to edit so I left a lot of them blank. But if anything I hope the text is readable than standard AI translations.

But in all honesty, please support actual humans. I might continue this, maybe not. But I think I might just commission an actual human than spend so much time trying to edit things. You don't have to rate or download this if you don't want to. It's just something I tried to do for myself.

Pretty good translation all things considered. If you do decide to continue, I recommend translating things that are 2+ years old. Nigiri Usagi is popular, so someone would have commissioned this sooner of later. Other less popular works may never see a professional translation.
